WebI use rsync for mirrored backup from one external drive to another. Often times I rename files from one of the drives but a subsequent rsync will then treat renamed files as new files so copies over as a new file and deleting the destination file with the old name. Instead, I want the destination files to also be simply renamed without copying ... WebNEED HELP USING RSYNC AND TRANSFERRING ONLY CHANGES FROM WINDOWS TO UNRAID. Started a full server move from windows to unraid. Moved the data successfully. Unraid wasnt working as I wanted yet so resumed old server for the time being. A bunch of movies and tv shows got updated (better formats).

Web1 day ago · I believe I have the rsyncd.conf file setup correctly in the Synology and I have just a few options selected. I have changed the UID and GID in this file between root and Dakota. The GID will make the rsync fail immediately if anything other than root or 1000 are entered for it. Dakota is also the user in the Synology. Webrsync always uses checksums to verify that a file was transferred correctly. If the destination file already exists, rsync may skip updating the file if the modification time and size match the source file, but if rsync decides that data need to be transferred, checksums are always used on the data transferred between the sending and receiving rsync processes.
