Webb25 feb. 2024 · So that seemed to be a good indication on health of the engine. The engine starts and runs well. The short term fuel trim was oscillating between - 0.5% to - 2.0% and + 0.6% to + 2.0% fairly quickly so that was satisfactory. The long term fuel trim was set at + 12.3% and I could not get it to change to a lower setting by accelerating the engine. Webb16 sep. 2024 · Negative LTFT is not making your motor run rich, any more than a high reading on my thermometer is making me sick. The LTFT is measuring the rich condition, not causing it. I agree with @keith on the lack of details and context; you should not have replaced the cat until you figured out what ruined the first one (if it even was in fact …

Webb3 aug. 2024 · If the O2 sensor see's this AFR fall below 14.7 it sends a resistance to the computer telling the computer the exhaust is rich and the computer starts pulling fuel back resulting in a short term negative fuel trim. A positive fuel trim number would be the result of the O2 sensor seeing a leaner than 14.7:1 AFR. Webb11 juli 2002 · The +25% LTFT means that the PCM is adding 25% fuel to the calculated injector pulsewidth. So I understand the car is reducing injection time to lean out the mixture but I don't know if there are any common issues with 1mzfe engines that cause this rich running. WebbFirst, we need to clarify the least understood setting in the Short Term Fuel Trim function and that is the Target Oscillation Amplitude. The default setting here is 0.0, which means if the ECU is targeting a 14.7:1 air-fuel ratio then the O2 control system tries to maintain a steady 14.7:1.
